I gave the wrong zip code to someone who was sending me something from Winslow. I called the Winslow post office and the nice lady found the package, corrected the zip code, and saved the day. I think her daughter works there too; this was the mom who helped me. Courteous, helpful, cheerful, and professional. We need more like her everywhere! Thank you!
Again, my mailman drove right past my mailbox and didn't pick up my mail. What's the point of having a red flag up on the box if it gets ignored!?!?!?
I'd had trouble receiving my mail due to the county addressing system changing my address to make it easier for first responders and the 911 system to locate my residence. I spoke with the postmaster and it was remedied easily. Recently, I was out of town. My 2 week trip became a 6 week jaunt. I had not put a stop on my mail delivery thinking I would be back fast enough and I usually do not receive very much mail. I was able to locate the phone number for the Winslow Post Office. I called, from Texas, and spoke with Andrew, the front counter Clerk. I explained to him my situation and he immediately handed me over to Arthur, the Postmaster. Not only did they hold the rest of my incoming mail for me, but Arthur, offered to have my Carrier pick up what had already been delivered to my mailbox. Living on a rural highway, this was such a relief. It was an unexpected offer of excellent service and I am so grateful to have caring and kind people like that in my hometown. Yet another reason, to love small communities. Unfortunately, USPS over the years has been moving more towards, communist boxes. The ones like inside an apartment or commercial building, but on a post. That means, your mailbox is actually anywhere from a mile to 10 miles from your home. Certain residents aren't included while others are told to remove the box they may have had for 18 years and use the new system. Wouldn't mind it as much if I didn't, all of a sudden, start having problems getting my mail (no parcels are ever delivered, even the size of a pack of cigarettes) in a timely fashion if at all.
I don't normally like to complain on people. But I believe we are all entitled to our own opinion my personal experience here was so horrible! The older man who works up front was very very rude & no help to me at all. This kind of service makes you dread going back.
Worst customer service ever. Older man there that is the grumpiest person ever. Both myself and my wife had the same experience with him. Miserable. I'm surprised he has a job there. Worst ever, makes going to the post office a task that you dread doing.
